Don Tanner and Matt Friedman are [carving] out a niche in metro Detroit's crowded public-relations world. The Farmington Hills agency Tanner Friedman [debuted in January with an early roster of four clients]: Pfizer Inc., Wayne State University's medical school, RealComp II Ltd. and the Law Offices of Sam Bernstein.
Tanner Friedman has grown that initial core of four clients into a roster of more than 20, and it's predicting $400,000 in revenue for this year. The agency didn't start billing until March.
Specializing in PR, media relations, crisis communications, reputation management, branding and marketing counsel, the firm is in the process of moving into a refurbished 4,400-square-foot office in the Tri-Atria Building on Northwestern Highway. Currently, there are five staffers, including Tanner and Friedman, with plans to hire up to a dozen people as the client base grows.
Also on the roster now are the Hispanic Business Alliance, Detroit; Guardian Alarm Co., Southfield; Paragon Property Management, Farmington Hills; the Oakland County Pet Adoption Center and O'Keefe & Associates, a turnaround-consulting firm in Bloomfield Hills. [Excerpted from original article]
