Spike TV Selects Tanner Friedman To Debut New National Show
Jan 21, 2008
Spike TV, the Viacom-owned national cable and satellite channel with more than 96 million viewers, selected the strategic communications firm Tanner Friedman to handle its announcement of a new television series that will debut on the network in April, executive produced by popular broadcaster Al Roker.
"DEA" will provide viewers with behind-the-scenes access to the lives and jobs of agents for the United States Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA). The series has been shot entirely in and around Detroit and is a collaboration of Al Roker Entertainment, Size 12 Productions and the DEA.
Tanner Friedman has been responsible for media relations and press event strategy, as the new show was announced in Detroit. The firm arranged for extensive interviews with Al Roker, Spike TV executives, DEA officials and the show's producers that resulted in local, regional and national print, broadcast and Web coverage.
"When we needed to break news in Detroit and communicate to our viewers in that community and nationally, we needed a firm that could handle high-profile assignments. That's why we chose Tanner Friedman," said David Schwarz, Vice President-Communications for Spike TV, which is ranked in the top five networks for young males.
"The opportunity to work with Spike TV and Al Roker has been a terrific experience for our team," said Matt Friedman, Tanner Friedman Partner and Co-Founder. "We have been able to put to work our experience inside the media and translate it into results."
