  • Establish a proactive crisis response plan and internal procedures to prepare staff for the potential of a crisis situation
  • Formulate appropriate messaging to answer a crisis situation, while adhering to limitations set by legal counsel
  • Engage company spokesperson(s) in Media Training to provide solid preparation to respond to tough questions
  • Identify appropriate communications tactics and select necessary audiences to receive information
  • Craft and issue official statements on behalf of management and answer journalists' questions, when necessary
  • Recommend steps for direct communication with public officials, affected communities, employees, suppliers, customers, analysts and any additional stakeholders
