Farmington Hills, Mich. – The Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals (AMCP) has awarded Tanner Friedman Strategic Communications an international 2020 MarCom Gold Award for its exemplary Michigan Motors Forward Podcast Series, in collaboration with JAG In Detroit Podcasts.
MarCom Awards is an international creative competition which recognizes outstanding achievement by marketing and communication professionals. More than 5,000 entries came from corporate marketing and communication departments, advertising agencies, public relations firms, design shops, production companies and freelancers throughout the United States, Canada, and dozens of other countries.
Just a few weeks into the pandemic, our partner JAG In Detroit Podcasts invited us to collaborate on a new podcast series that would feature businesses and organizations worth recognizing for their spirit, creativity and resourcefulness in the face of upheaval. Notably, it would showcase their successes and the steps they were taking in helping the communities they served in times of great need.
19 episodes highlighting these voices garnered nearly 800 total downloads in just a few months, in addition to thousands upon thousands of views on social media. The show welcomed a variety of guests, ranging from nonprofit executive directors and a public-school superintendent to a Detroit auction house owner and law firm Member in Charge. The efforts celebrated forward-moving steps of action and insightful thought leaders in a time where, again, traditional media opportunities were limited and in-person gatherings had disappeared.
Shared across Simplecast, Apple, Google and Spotify, Michigan Motors Forward is rightfully summarized within the podcast’s official introduction: “There are events that test our mettle, and our resolve. As we move through this crisis, how are we coping, adapting, and fighting on? Join us for local stories of perseverance, creativity, and contributing to community.
