Farmington Hills, Mich. (May 3, 2021) – The Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals (AMCP) has awarded Tanner Friedman Strategic Communications two international Gold 2021 Hermes Creative Awards for successful communications campaigns.
In the category of Pandemic Response, Tanner Friedman’s work for Wayne Metropolitan Community Action Agency won Gold. While the nonprofit organization has been a lifeline for individuals in Wayne County since its inception in 1971, when the impact of the pandemic hit home, the need skyrocketed. Countless individuals were suddenly out of work, without the means to pay rent or utilities, make home repairs or purchase food, and Wayne Metro – backed by federal and state funding – answered the call and expanded its programs, resources and impact. Tanner Friedman assisted Wayne Metro with strategic media relations efforts to ensure the services available could reach as many people in sudden need as possible.
In the category of Publicity Campaigns, judges honored Tanner Friedman’s work with a Gold award for the VoteSafe Michigan campaign in 2020. The bipartisan, statewide media campaign successfully raised awareness by promoting prominent government, healthcare and business voices calling for safe voting options, leading to record voter participation in Michigan’s election last year, including more than 3 million absentee votes. Tanner Friedman’s media relations work on VoteSafe Michigan was performed in partnership with Acuitas, LLC, Alper Strategies & Media and CraftWord, LLC.
The Hermes Creative Awards honor communications work in more than two hundred categories across the globe, distributed under the headings: Print Media, Public Relations/Communications and Electronic/ Social/Interactive Media. In addition to strategic tactics like advertising, publications, websites and videos, categories also include strategic campaigns and media placements.
Consisting of several thousand creative professionals who contribute their unique talents to public service and charitable organizations, the AMCP administers and judges the Hermes Creative Awards and has reviewed more than 200,000 entries from more than 100 countries since its formation in 1994.
